Use your initiative!

Sometimes it's best not to follow instructions I've learnt to my cost. My embroidery pattern said use pink thread I thought it a bit weird but on checking on found it was also sewn in dark gray. So pictured only a little bit of pink showing through. I now have a pink brachiosaurus with a bit of gray detailing on a boy's bottle green t-shirt. Oh man!!!

I wonder how many 4 year olds will believe they were really pink?

I have neglected this! Happy new year - at least it's still January.

I have spent the new year enjoying the snow although my son wasn't fussed on watching me and his dad building a snowman. I've also been playing around with dyes, and have a new range of dyed t-shirts. I think they look lovely - there's a nice gradient on them where I've dyed them 2 different colours.

It takes ages to do them because they need 2 dying sessions. I spend a few hours back and forward the kitchen sink. It's worth it in the end!

This is one example of an embroidered dyed t-shirt in my shop.

Whoever Michael Miller is I love him lol

You may not have heard of Michael Miller but he/they/the company print some of the most gorgeous fabrics I've ever seen. I'm loving the groovy guitar at the moment - the boy version of course. I've appliqued lots of it to jeans for my son for Christmas (after the 9-12 month disaster but that's another story) . This is the disaster pair spent about 2 hours stitching the guitars on then realised that they were too short for him.
I love the colours tho'. I've listed these in my shop, it's heartbreaking. I've done him another pair though this time with 3 guitars on and only in the green colours. I love those just as much ;-)

Patches, patches everywhere

I'm preparing for my craft fair on Sunday and have been making millions of sew on applique patches... slight exaggeration lol.

This is my favourite one in my favourite fabrics of the moment, looks good enough to eat. Cupcake patches would really brighten up a boring pair of jeans.

I've had a bit of a change of direction, offering these more than embroidered clothes on my site... we'll see if people like them.
If you happen to find this blog, leave a comment what do you think?

It's been a while.... I've been so busy getting my ideas together I have hardly time to sleep! Well that's a slight exaggeration really I've just forgotten to post...

I've had the idea of a lifetime (another exaggeration) and I'm developing a line of cloth nappy clothing. I've had a hard time finding clothes, especially trousers to fit my son that aren't out-grown quickly so it's something I feel really passionate about. I'll post pictures as soon as possible.

Get your handmade bibs here!

I have come up with 3 patterns for baby bibs - from smaller bibs to wear with outfits to large bibs to try and cover all available surfaces from the joys of baby feeding itself fall out.

This is the first of many I've put up for sale. I'm really pleased with how they work on my own son. The fleece backing is great for helping to keep his clothes dry from the relentless teething dribble. Wish it did the same for his chin lol.

New designs

Have been really busy the last few days a) because my boy is teething and not very happy a lot of the time and b) in all my spare time I've been designing c) or enjoying the sunshine :-D

I've also found new selling outlets in etsy and folksy to put my hand embroidered gear on so I'm hopeful that some of those will sell. Along with £bay and ebid should hopefully be a productive run upto Christmas.

I can't believe the end of the summer is here no more rainy days in the garden - actually nothing changes then.
